I don't know. I have a question though, if it is truly political, why now?

Of course "Don't tread on me" is political, Scruff. So is that granite image of the Ten Commandments (which the Tea Party Ideology worships) which is over the door of the Supreme Court...for God knows how long.

Neither are new. Both are political. And neither are going to be removed any ways soon...no matter which political group chooses to make their symbolic image their own.

You know what I did? I took 5 mins and looked up the uniforms.

THE ENTIRE JERSEY WAS DESIGNED AROUND THE FIRST FLAG OF THE US NAVY, THE FIRST NAVY JACK.

I put that in caps so that your old eyes could read it.

The reason they never had that on the jerseys before is because they never had a jersey designed around the Navy Jack.

It even has the rattlesnake.

That took 5 mins of research.

I expect you to admit you were wrong.

Zach does not do twitter, facebook, linkydin, etc. Zach has a cell phone which Zach uses once a month and email which I use constantly.

Why not? Why not in 110 years? Why now?

As soon as someone can answer my question.

The Flag and the Slogan are TEA PARTY. They weren't tea party in your lifetime or mine. But they are now. Coincidence????

Answer my questions

According to an article I just read:

quote:

Under Armour has been outfitting Navy’s athletic teams since July 2014.

LINK

You've seen the flag:

You've seen the helmets:

Maybe, just maybe a bunch of helmet designers at Under Armour thought it would be cool to put an old logo and motto on some football helmets.

Under Armour is known for artistic helmet designs. See Maryland last year:

The people who designed the helmet likely did not even know that was the Tea Party's motto-in fact, the vast majority of people who don't live and breath politics 24/7 don't even know that is the Tea Party's motto.

Don't you feel really old and dumb right now?

OK, so you are in the 'it's just a coincidence' group. Gotcha. It's certainly possible.

Damn, you really want this to be a conspiracy, don't you?

Also, how the hell would they have made jerseys with that design even 20 years ago? Jerseys have been incredibly simple until recently.

No. The flag and slogan are Navy and will always be such. The Tea Party died when it was co-opted by the religious.

It'll vanish and be forgotten.

The Navy Jack belongs to the Navy and always will.

Man, you whiffed hard on this like you ran on a wet floor and wiped out.

There's nothing political about the navy using slogan and graphics associated with it.

Just observing and wondering.

They could put the label on the back of the helmet 110 years ago with a piece of tape and a pen.

God Damn those religious. To hell with them.

Perhaps.. but:

1. I provoked some thought.
2. I killed enough time for me to watch the LSU BB game on the SEC network coming up right now.

Good night, all. See you guys tomorrow.

It's really not that coincidental. It's not like the Tea Party movement started really gaining steam right now such that it is suspicious that the first year of using of the slogan in 110 years coincided with the start of the Tea Party.
