Post in which I ask the Rant about Braxton Miller...

What say the esteemed posters of tRant regarding Miller? I've looked up his stats and he averaged over 1,100 yards rushing and 2,000 yards passing in each of his last two seasons. He's responsible for 84 career TD's in only 36 career games.
Would his addition to the roster be a net negative or positive? Knowing nothing of what kind of teammate he is, but some of what kind of chemistry we have now, do you think this would upset the apple cart at the QB roster spot? Better yet, do you see Miles and Cameron taking a kid who is an all-conference caliber dual-threat type and trying to plug him into what is evidently a pretty inflexible pro-style approach we take?

He probably wouldn't be that good here. Doesn't fit our scheme and almost any QB can succeed in urban Meyers offense

Name one other QB that wasn't good in his offense. Yall thinking Ohio state recruits the best QBs ever because they come in and run the offense is dumb. It's a qb friendly offense

maybe cardale jones or JT barrett will transfer

C'mon Bro. Are you serious? Meyer ha recruied well but that doesn't mean his system is the type where kids can come in from Day 1 and beast on people. Miller, Tebow and those types are unbelievable talents. He had recruited Scam Newton to take over once Tebow was gone, and I'm of the opinion that Newton would've made people forget all about a guy that they said was a "generational" football player.
No doubt Meyer's system is keyed off a QB that has easy run reads, but this kid is way, WAY more than some product of some sysem.

Thanks. The other 4,000 posts about this exact same topic weren't laid out well enough. You really broke the mold.

For the 1,000th time he can't play at lsu or in the sec. Doesn't matter how good he can be. It's an sec rule.

What's the SEC rule?

You have to have 2 years of eligibilAty left to play to transfer. He has 1.

I'll take things never said about Les Miles' offense for $1,000, Alex.

I don't think he's a polished enough passer to help in the one year he'd be here. This is especially true given his shoulder issues.

Not true if you have already graduated, but thanks for playing and spreading ignorance.

As I understand it that rule was repealed.

John Brantley says hello!
He said almost any, and he is GOT DAMN RIGHT!
Bowling Green 2-9 before he got there 8-3 and then 9-3 his only two years
Josh Harris 1022 pass yards 9 TDs, 600 rush yards 8 TDs
Josh Harris 2425 pass yards 19 TDs, 737 rush yards 20 TDs
Utah 10-2 first year 12-0 second year
Alex Smith 2247 pass yards 15 TDs, 452 rush yards 5 TDs
Alex Smith 2952 pass yards 32 TDs, 631 rush yards 10 TDs
Florida 10-3, 13-1, 9-4, 13-1, 13-1, 8-5
Chris Leak 2639 pass yards 20 TDs, 81 rush yards 6 TDs
Chris Leak 2942 pass yards 23 TDs, 30 rush yards 3 TDs
Tim Tebow 358 pass yards 5 TDs, 469 rush yards 8 TDs
Tim Tebow 3286 pass yards 32 TDs, 895 23 TDs
Tim Tebow 2746 pass yards 30 TDs, 673 12 TDs
Tim Tebow 2895 pass yards 21 TDs, 910 14 TDs
Jordan Reed 252 pass yards 3 TDs, 328 rush yards 5 TDs
Ohio State 12-0, 12-2, 12-1
Braxton Miller 2039 pass yards 15 TDs, 1279 rush yards 13 TDs
Braxton Miller 2094 pass yards 24 TDs, 1068 rush yards 12 TDs
Kenny Guiton 749 pass yards 14 TDs, 330 rush yards 5 TDs
JT Barrett 2834 pass yards 34 TDs, 938 rush yards 11 TDs
Cardele Jones 375 pass yards 5 TDs, 218 rush yards
I don't know how that system works, but it is freaking genius and is proven across 4 different conferences on four different levels of elite teams. However that doesn't mean his QBs would be able to perform in a pro style under center offense after only a couple of months (or weeks) of learning it.
