I understand the hesitancy, but it's better to offer now and pull it later than wait and let someone else beat you to the punch.

Doesn't make any difference. If it does, then explain why Womack isn't going to end up in P&G. LSU was his first offer and even committed....how much does that mean these days? Absolutely nothing, so my point is when you offer means squat these days. Also, ask Charlot why he is considering LSU at all since LSU took so long. Personally, I prefer the opposite...make sure you want the guy and then offer. To offer and then have to pull it later makes the school look pretty sleazy.

Agreed look at Mississippi stae, but sometimes I do feel that LSU is late on some offers in the recruiting trail. I know they rely a lot on the camps they have but sometimes I'm just like JESUS

I think we just notice the late offers by LSU. Using Womack again as an example, Alabama just offered him didn't they. So under your statement, they would be also "be late" right? Also, LSU like every other program has "contingencies." Nobody advertises them of course because you don't want to make any prospects think they were a fall-back position but we all know some of them are. If you really want a QB for example, I think we all know there is a board somewhere/computer file with the names written in order of preference. If the higher ranked guys look like lost causes, then an offer perhaps not initially expected gets issued. Oh, and for the record, it works exactly the same way obviously with prospects clearly having their own ranking of offers.
