Duck Hill, Mississippi
47 degrees
.308 Howa

Saw two trying to find this stand I had never been on.

Too much damn clothes on walking in, sweating in stand now.

Just had a doe walk il behind me at about 20 yds and stomp and blow and stomp and blow for 5 minutes straight. Tried to get a shot off at her to shut her up but the limbs are too thick.

Bitch.
I'm sure she scared off anything in MS.

Just noticed a huge new rub too.

Just had doe come from behind stand. I used a drag rag and she sniffed back up the trail I came in on. Mebbe she's pulling a buck behind her

Isn't it funny how you walk in and don't see them and then, boom, once the sun hits them just right they pop out at you.

Jwal, you talking about my turkey shot, turkey call, and turkey decoy?

i always thought a doe blowing would scare off stuff but i now believe it does not. a couple weeks ago i had 2 doe come in.. fed for about 30 mins and left. Then 2 more doe came in feeding, about 150 yds away the other does started blowing like crazy! I mean for 5 mins strait! The 2 doe that were feeding under me wouod just casually look up that way and continue eating. Never once startled. Then when they was done feeding they went same direction as 2 that were blowing. It didnt phase them in the least

I wasn't looking for it on the way in but it's damn near blinding me now.

Thanks oleyeller. Hope that's the case here too. Too early for my hunt to be over this morning.

no prob. and no joke man, that started blowing sounded like a train horn in woods. and the 2 doe under me would just look up and continue eating. Like it wasnt any big deal at all. Continued eating til dark and walkd off toward other doe on other side of hill that was blowing. Not once got startled or on edge. you will be fine

Gotta pay extra for those "Smart Water" bottles. They are the quietest and their shape fits better in pockets and bags.

Yea along with your TP, foot rest, or maybe a recliner, heater while it's cold, box fan when it warms up this afternoon, generator to run said items, etc. you know everything to make your hunt more relaxing.

Side note- my next box stand will be big enough for a recliner. May put a secret poop chute on it, and I'll never get out of the stand.

I agree and usually keep a supply. FIL took my last good one to work with him instead of his cheap bottled water.
