Talk about acronym overload in the subject line!

I am looking for some fun recommendations for dinner in the warehouse district, quarter, or CBD on new years eve night.

Myself and some friends (all mid 20's) are foregoing the expensive parties and instead spending that money on a fun dinner. We are looking for a relatively festive atmosphere and not overly expensive (think entrèes in the $17-25 range).

I saw Cafe Giovanni had a special for 65 a head. This is one option, plus possibly Johnny Sanchez or Maximo's. Any others that the board might recommend?

I'll start with getting the Peche recommendation out of the way.

Thanks in advance!

Downtown was ridiculous last year. I'm making reservations Uptown and getting white boy wasted somewhere.

Thanks. Just looked it up. $75 a person for a four course set menu.

I can't wait for all of the bitching from people downtown waiting on cabs.

I have a short list of two places right now.

It will be much worse this year due to the massive influx of Bama and tOSU fans.

I have reservations at Ralph's for NYE. Gonna try their Louisiana Legacy strip and get a couple of nice bottles (Orin Swift "The Prisoner" & Vending Machine "Double Shotgun"). New Year's Day I'm hitting Domenica for lunch -- cauliflower, burrata, kale, onion gratin, stracci. Hitting up Kanno and Adolfo's while I'm down there as well. Oh yeaaaaaah

I had a pretty good time doing Borgne for NYE a couple years ago.

Lively atmosphere. Bar is so pretty. Had a fixed menu, but it was some of their best items. Even had whole fish. And it was the type where you get to choose out of 4-5 items for each course.. you aren't stuck with one option.

I find Borgne to be mediocre. I like the location and the bar. I've never been impressed with their food or blown away. I dined there the night before NYE last year, since I had friends staying there. I got the drum with pecans. It was okay. I have enjoyed the stuffed flounder there, but it's got nothing on Peche's flounder.

Borgne is my least favorite Besh restaurant.

Thought about Borgne as well but it is just a little too far of a walk to any other bars. I'll keep that in mind though (I've made the walk before just not with a group of girls in high heels).

Downtown on NYE is a complete clusterfrick.

Well I've enjoyed the food at Cafe Giovanni. Not sure what the atmosphere will be like on New Years but it is a good location if you plan to hit the quarter after.

We're going to Peche. Living downtown has its advantages at times.

This was pretty much my thoughts. Great date spot, not so great wild 'n out spot.
