I think the deer population took a huge blow when the guy rubbed the magic lamp and asked for a million Bucks

Doing my best to help get rid of these before the piglets are of breeding age.
There are roughly 30 in this small herd with several other groups and loaners around and about! I was able to take a pretty heft sow out of this group.

I remember growing up it was pretty rare you would ever see any wild pigs in either the Smoky mountains or the Cumberland Mountains -- 15 years ago hogs were only found in 15 counties in TN. Now they're found in 80 out of 95

Friend of mine was telling me about seeing a herd of about 15 hogs in Cades Cove there in the Smokies. Since they're in the park, no one can kill em out. Do the hogs hurt the deer population by eating up the mast crop or do they eat the young fawns? Or both? We don't have em here, but we got truckloads of coyotes and a growing mountain lion population. Got several bears here, too.

Me and some buddies did our annual hiking trip in the southern Cherokee National forest -- Basically from just south of the GSMNP border down to North GA. I spoke with a park ranger and he was saying that there isn't any public hunting on hogs in GSMNP but the park services play a big part in keeping the numbers more manageable. They're fair game in North and South Cherokee Natl forests, pisgah Natl forest and Nantahala natl forest(The East TN, West NC, and North GA part of Appalachias.. He was saying that the hogs eat a lot of what the bear and deer eat and that's a big reason they are trying to keep their numbers lower in the forests and parks. We've got quite a few coyote but no mountain lion. That's great to hear they're in your area.. Which state are you in? Mobile doesn't show location
