Just signed up for this. It's actually my first ever credit card so I'm not sure if I got a good deal or not.

I don't care about interest rates because I will definitely pay it off each month.

I chose this one because even though it has a $75 annual fee, you get 6% back at US supermarkets up to $6000 and you get 3% back on all gas purchases ( I spend a ton on gas and groceries). I'll more than make up for the 75 fee in savings but am I missing out on other good offers or am I forgetting something that I should be concerned more with?

Most places I buy groceries are excluded and I try to keep all of my points within the chase/united network.

Great card if it meets your spending habits though.

I have had this card since January. I put almost everything on it. I believe I've gotten back close to $1000 in cash rewards this year. I've never checked on if the grocery store I use was accepted or not, but you get 1% back on any purchase, so there's still that. I also got 12 months interest free when I signed up for the card. American Express was very good about increasing my limit without me even having to request. They've doubled my lmit this year, but that's probably attributed to how much I use it.

That was my first rewards card

I still use it for groceries bc you can't beat 6%

Keep an eye on amex member offers once you get the card. They offer a lot of automatic rebates at certain retailers throughout the year

I put my gas on the Penfed card now since its 5% cash back and it's accepted at racetrac (amex is not)

Most groceries will be accepted, but places like Walmart and target will not be labeled as grocery stores.

You can also buy gift cards at the grocery store to get 6% back on them as well (until you reach the 6000 max)

Do you exclusively buy from Sams/Costco/Walmart?

Not exclusively, but target, sam's, and produce stands mainly with occasional trips to whole foods.

I could break even on the annual fee but I don't see the benefit in acquiring a small amount of Amex points when I earn a huge amount of chase/united points. I'd rather them be all in one place.

I love AmEx. I'm with the other posters - the places we shop generally wouldn't get the 6%. I use the Blue Sky most often because AmEx gave me a ridiculous limit. About to jump on the Chase Sapphire Preferred wagon, though.

Like others have said places like Walmart, Costco, Target etc are not considered grocery stores. Also not every gas station is included either. You will have to stick to Shells, Exxon's and not independently owned gas stations to get the 3%.
I put all my gas and groceries on this card and put everything else on a capital one 2% cash back card.
