Since the Premier League era has started Chelsea City, then Liverpool are in the top 3 in spending.

Liverpool £767,305,000

Manchester United £759,350,000

and the net isnt that big of a difference either.

Crazy huh. So much for they are small club. They have always been historically one of the biggest spenders in England despite what some may tell you.

So are United really the yankees??

Ahhhh can't wait for sunday.

LINK

Also interesting article from Neville on Liverpool needing to spend more. But would you really trust BR with more cash?

I can't help but to wonder what this season would look like had LFC bought Remy, and Bony instead of Lambert, Balotelli.

yet, you've spent ~80mm more in actual dollars, not even including the massive wages (which IMO needs to be included in the talk)

a) No LFC fan has ever implied we were a small club... and there is no doubt we've wasted money

b) There is no denying MUFC is on another level than us, financially... kudos to them for building that

c) As of today, I'd be very hesitant to trust him in the market, but he needs to address big holes

I have some pretty stifling disdain for LFC. I truly hope they lose every game the remainder of the season.

that just proves the net is minimal in over 20 years for big clubs.

yes we have them and so do you guys

obviously Rooney, Di Maria and RVP are absurd as well as Falcao.

You said LFC was historically not big spender when I said they were.

Liverpool has no excuse not to be and clearly have spent more in actually transfers

I never said that we didnt spend, I said we dont have the spending power of the top tier clubs in europe... specifically, in this current generation of oil money/sugar daddies... NO.. we couldnt spend like you guys this summer. We couldnt bring in Falcao or Di Maria (regardless if they wanted to come) due to their wage demands... I wish we could.

So, the fact that we havent been great in the market, and wasted money, hurts us all the more...

But you do and have done it. Still a top 10 richest club in the world.
BR has already spend over 200 million in 3 years.

Thats spending power.

Maybe, maybe not. LFC has the money.

there is a gulf between the top 5 or 6 and the rest (for various reasons - better run/sugar daddies)... to say anything otherwise is being disingenuous..

No, we couldnt afford them... our biggest earner doesnt even make 200k/wk... how many players do you have over 200? over 300?

but for the sake of this thread... I give up, you win...

edit: I agree we have spent enough to be putting out a better product than we have this season...

Assets, tv money and sponsors thats why PSG and Monaco are not in the top 10. Liverpool still has those things.

3, 4 including falcao who won't be there next year.

It's warranted in this case. He uses derby week as an excuse but there isn't a more LFCssessed dude on this board, including the Liverpool thread.

That's ok, your greatest legend was an ex liverpool captain. I'd be a little obsessed also.

I dunno. I realize I have a bias but what SCH isn't anything out of the ordinary for United OR liverpool fans on other boards.

shite talking at it's finest. I like it. From both sides.

It doesn't bother me most of the time. I enjoy the shite talk 9 times out of 10. But it doesn't mean I can't call him out for being obsessed.
