Schiano might be the best fit.

I have to think that Chryst will be at or near the top of the list. Going 19-19 at Pittsburgh is nothing to look down upon.

Chryst would be a great look

Some people are saying Schiano at UM

Dave Wannstedt got fired for going 42-31 at Pitt.

Pro coaches often don't translate well in college.

I don't necessarily want the job to go to him, because I know he would bolt at the first opportunity better than Wisconsin, but I would think Barry has PJ Fleck somewhere on his list.
Barry said he preferred someone with head coaching experience, but I really think two of his top options should be Pat Narduzzi or Dave Aranda.
A lot of Wisconsin fans are mixed on Paul Chryst. Many acknowledged how great he was as an offensive coordinator, but have always questioned the type of head coach he would be due to his personality. Pittsburgh fans have voiced frustrations over recruiting and in-game decisions.
However, you have to think Barry has Chryst and Dave Doeren near the top of his list.

If I was Wisky Narduzzi would be at the top of my list. He has shown to be a great football mind, who has made 2 and 3 star guys into pros consistently

If they somehow got Pat Narduzzi that would be a great hire considering what just unfolded

Tough news from Madison. I was really happy to see the Anderson hire.
I don't buy his frustration with the entry requirements at UW. They're tough no doubt, but Alvarez and Bielema succeeded under these restrictions as do coaches at many other top academic schools. Anderson knew what he was getting into when he came on board.
I'm thinking this is more an issue with Alvarez's control and personality. The manner in which Bielema and Anderson have left underlines this.
That being said, any characterization of prospective coaches should include the ability to work under a micro manager with a oversized ego. This is one top reason why ex-coaches make bad AD's these days. Wisconsin will never make a home-run hire of an experienced and proven candidate under these conditions. They will always have to take chances on younger guys short on credentials. They deserve better.

I don't think that would be too good of a fit.

I think Doeren would be a very good hire. He's obviously comfortable in the Midwest and understands the nuances of coaching at a place like Wisconsin.
