when he gets them as freshman instead taking what they do best and developing them from there,he tries to take them and make them into a QB that he has built in his head like he's playing a video game. Or do you think it's turn over at the Oc position, have we had the same Oc over two years. To me the pure pocket passer that's accurate is best for Lsu,last years stats prove that to me. Les and Cam want a Andrew Luck type QB, a pure accurate pocket passer that can run. The problem with that is there's not that many Luck type Qb's, and you can't build them like Miles tries to do. I hope Miles finds an identity gets his OB for that identity and plays to that QB's strengths and goes from there!

No one is crying, just want other people's opinions on not having a Oc over 2 years if that hurts QB development or trying to make a QB into something he's not has more to do with development? Two honest questions

Before you can develop the QB most of us is thinking about,
the coaches MUST want that type of QB.

Miles does not want QBs that can win the games and play to win.
He wants and molds whoever he gets into "game managers". end of story.

His old Michigan attitude, if we are bigger and more physical, and the game is close at the end we can wear them out and pull put a win.

Cam has had little or no effect on that..after all, they both share that history.

Because of Cam's first year and Mett being on board, we were forced to open it up "some"
...just think, what kind of game plan would most coaches have designed with an NFL talent for QB, and 2 NFL caliber receivers.

in essence, he does not want to do so.

You decided this as a result of:

1. Your many deep and long conversations with Miles regarding his football philosophy
or
2. By carefully analyzing the tapes of each and every game focusing on QB play
or
3. Relying on your many years of coaching offensive football at the college level
or
4. Pulling this out of your a$$.

I'll go with number 4. Alex.

It all goes back to the Perrilloux debacle. Think about everything that has happened with the position since then.

CLM insists on completely safe passing. He thinks that preventing interceptions is the same thing as preventing fumbles.

Let's be blunt. We have a large enough body of work to say that Miles pretty much blows on offense. ESPECIALLY when compared with coaches who share his income level.

Exceptions to this reality do not disprove the rule. Especially when even those exceptions result in an offense that finished 7th in the SEC.

If, in 10 years of coaching LSU, most of your offenses were offensive and a couple were pretty good but still lagged the best, you can't be in the conversation as a coach good for offense.

No slam to you, honest, I simply do not believe this. If Perrilloux (spell?) had stayed I really honestly think the same thing would have happened that has happened AND Will Happen to all the others,.

The deal with Perrilloux is we never got to see it so everyone thinks it would have been different, no way

Nor will it be different in the future with Miles, 10 years of history is 10 years and it does not take a Rocket scientist to predict the future with a 10 year track record.

Perrillous hasn't played for us since the 2007 regular season.

I mean, how long can that excuse last without people laughing.

If the qb position at LSU is a round hole, we continue to sign square pegs. The staff likes the mobility of the square pegs, but history shows it very seldom fits into the round hole.

Never underestimate the ability of the excuse-makers on this board.

I saw one guy yesterday attributing Blake Sims' success to the fact that he graduated and is only taking one class, whereas Jennings has a full course load!!!

I've read some outlandish stuff on this board, but that one surprised even me.
