Thought it was an interesting read.

quote:

The New York Knicks were en route to their fifth straight loss last week against Brooklyn when a frustrated Tim Hardaway Jr. screamed angrily, "Get the rebound!"

Certain his second-year teammate was speaking to him, Carmelo Anthony approached Hardaway on the way down the court and used an expletive to ask Hardaway who in the world he thought he was talking to.

Anthony, according to sources, used another expletive in telling Hardaway he was going to beat him up when they got into the locker room after the game.

quote:

Several Knicks, in addition to Hardaway, are at odds with Anthony and believe he is not playing team basketball. Sources said players voiced their displeasure with Anthony over the weekend, telling him he shoots too much, doesn't move or pass the ball, and plays defense only when he feels like it.

Sources said the most tension exists between Anthony and Hardaway, as they haven't cared for each other almost since Hardaway joined the team last season, with each player believing the other shoots too much and doesn't care about defense. Sources said Hardaway was also bothered by the favorable treatment Anthony received under last season's coach, Mike Woodson.

quote:

One thing Anthony and his teammates do agree on is their disdain for the triangle offense, sources said. For weeks, if not longer, the players have been ready to ditch the triangle and move on to another system. They feel like other teams know what they are going to run and where they are going to go on the court, which makes it easier to stop them.

I actually find this point to be interesting. The Knicks just do not have the personal to run the triangle optimally in my opinion.

It's not the system, it's the players. The whole lot of them.

Stoudamire and Jason Smith were the only two players that looked like they gave half a shite

That team is a disaster

Oh wait, Carmelo is a shot-hungry ballhog who cares only about the limelight and not about winning? Shocker.

Coming off of a summer where he decided not to sign with Chicago (a much better basketball destination) while giving lip service to the 'I just want to win' bullshite, this comes as absolutely no surprise. Good for the young fella Hardaway for standing up to him.

They are just now noticing that he doesn't like to play within the offensive system the HC runs?

Dude has been doing that shite since Mike D'Antoni was there.

They are spending $48.4 million on 4 players that don't even average 30 min per game. Yikes.

Not sure if serious, but it's not like he was going to Oklahoma City or Minneapolis. As a matter of fact, Pau Gasol made the exact same move from a worldly city to Chicago because it was a better basketball situation. frick, Chicago is a huge, metropolitan area it its own right.

Carmelo can hem and haw all he wants about wanting to win, but he clearly took the money grab and wanted to stay in the spotlight and be the only alpha dog on his team. That's fine and dandy and it's his life, but let's not act like this dissension is a surprise or anything. This has been his M.O. since he entered the league.
