I feel like the 5th place team is usually much better than some of these joke teams that get in

One horse race...............

Ah, they must provide a space for each champion (and some of these ´joke´ teams often provide quite the pleasant surprise).

They should have less.

Until the BPL starts having more success, I'd say no. I think the CL is already watered down enough. It's not like the 5th team would have a chance. And keep in mind, I'm not biased here. A 5th spot would be amazing for Spurs.

No

and if City don't advance from the group stage again combined with a few more Liverpool type performances as well from who ever. UEFA would be justified to take away the 4th spot.

Considering half of the teams who made it this year didn't advance, I'll say not just no, but frick no.

ETA: Pending City's results

But I think 4 is the right number.

It's called the "Champions League" for a reason.

No. Chelsea/Arsenal/United are the only teams that have been somewhat relevant in Europe in the last 5 seasons bar Tottenham somehow making it to the Quarterfinals.

ETA: Maicon/Inter still have nigthmares from that game at White Hart Lane.

Yes they are usually better than the scrub teams but they don't deserve anything if they finish 5th in their own league. That goes for any league no matter how good it is at a given time.

I wish the CL would go back to only the champions getting in. The good ole days....

Still. I think it would be a much cooler competition that way.

Of course, that would mean Liverpool would never make it in again.
