To me it is not....
It takes no athletic ability
It takes no skill (as many bow and gun hunters use a scope)

Not to mention the masking agents such as deer urine that deer hunters place on themselves and other things hunters do. So why do they call it a "sport?"

There's no score and almost always the same team loses.

No, not at all. Doesn't take much of a "man" to shoot a defenseless animal with a high powered rifle while dressed in camo sitting in a stand.

Gun, animal. Empty handed. Looks like tee ball with a big red bat and a beach ball. Barely a sport.

If fishing isn't Louisiana really needs to rethink the whole sportsman's paradise thing

I have been big horn sheep hunting with a buddy of mine. We practiced for several weeks at all sorts of distances and taking into account wind changes based off bullet weight and temp change.

May not be football but that was some serious work just to bag a ram.

It was super BA though

Traditional foxhunting is a sport. You ride (often at high speeds) and jump as the hounds chase the quarry. Hunts usually last 2-3 hours, but sometimes go much longer. A lot of people get hurt, especially when jumping horses in bad climactic conditions (hunt season runs most of the fall and winter).

Lots of other forms of hunting require both athletic ability and skill.
