Would anyone have any complaints with the teams that got in?

GT, Ole Miss, and Arizona would be the snubs.

Picturing an eight-team playoff

That actually, by coincidence, is the totally logical cutting-off point IMO. All the good 2 loss teams.

Looks pretty good. First two rounds should be on campus at the better seed. Which keeps being 1 and 2 important along with keeping the regular season important.

Also playing on campus eases all of the travel cost burdens for fan bases which would have to travel three times which would kill attendance. Four times if you throw in conference championship games.

If there were eight teams, there would be much more scrutiny for the last spots, and Ole Miss would get it over Miss State due to head to head win and better OOC schedule.

I agree. there are a lot more good 2 loss teams than 1 loss teams.

The playoffs would be amazing to watch. Could you imagine a day with all of those games back to back?

GT wouldn't be a snub in this scenario.

Gotta win to keep playing. We didn't do enough.

Right. Head to head only matters when teams have the same record.

Maybe so. I like the idea of expanding it though. I'd rather choose between who slides in at 8 over 4.

I think 6 is the best number with two byes, but you would run into massive bitching over who would get the bye.

Ole Miss would also have the most embarrassing loss.

Getting shutout 30-0 to Arkansas is not something you can just overlook.

Arizona should be in over Mich Stat but otherwise looks good.

Not me. I think there are only 6 truly deserving.

Miss State lost their last 2.
Ole Miss. No way. Choked down the stretch.
GT lost at home to Duke and then to UNC.

AZ and Michigan State would be the next 2 for me though.

But once you get past 6, I'd be a bit ambivalent. I think 8 is perfect for football.

There will be bitching no matter what. I think 4 is plenty.
