Amazon Instant for Android

Its been out for 3 months and its still simply one of the worst apps I have ever seen produced for the android platform by a major company.
Has there been no updates? I guess Amazon doesn't read its own reviews of 1800+ 1 star reviews. Why no standalone app like they developed for Apple?
I have one need with the app. The ability to download the movie purchases I made through Amazon to my device so that my son can watch his shows when traveling. Simple process with the Apple app. The Android app they made it impossible. Instead the install for tablets is a mystery and you wind up with an app developed for a browser viewer.

Definitely agree. I actually emailed the devs and they said they're "actively working on a major update." Good thing is he said they "plan to have chromecast support in the next year. "

The angle that made the most sense on why they held out as long as they did was that they don't want Android users accessing Prime Video. Having such a bad product after that long wait seems to further indicate that. I don't know if it's the cheap reputation of Android users, Prime is intended as a gateway after all, or if they simply want to limit the number of users accessing Prime Video to keep the cost of their content deals down (remember NetFlix hit a certain number of subscribers and triggered a renegotiation point for Sony that ended up leading to them losing some content).

The app really does suck. Its funny considering the fire TV and its app run on an android based system

I will NEVER buy a movie from Amazon again. That's what their shite app development led to with me. They are one of the only vendors that do not connect to the Disney App for content library. I can only watch the movies I purchased at DVD prices if streamed from a device that has Amazon and I can only watch it if I have a good wifi connection. (No way am I streaming 1gb of data via cell)
