NO respectable fantasy league should end on week 17? Free league among coworker? Who cares. Money on the line? Chances are I'm not playing in if it ends in Week 17.

Yeah I agree.

Not a ton, but there is some money on the line.

Week 17 is the best week of the season. Championship!

Yep. We have 2 week matchups, so week 17 will end it.

Why wouldn't it end on week 17?

So people can just have face offs with only two players on each team?

For clarification I'm new to fantasy football and this is a legit question

Because half of the decent players don't even play week 17.

Regular season 1-13 then playoffs 14,15,16

Why wouldn't the decent players play on week 17?

There are 16 games and 1 bye week = 17 weeks.

I guess you are saying that teams that have a playoff spot already locked up will rest their starters?

Yep. Unless they are playing for home field advantage or seeding. The starters will usually play about a quarter or less or sit out the whole game.

This year no team is going to have home field locked up by week 16.
Maybe, maybe the Packers but I don't see it.

But yeah in general this is a terrible idea.

Yeah I just checked and every division is still in a close race besides Patriots, Colts, and Broncos.

But those 3 will still be fighting for #1 seed and the NFC is up for grabs.

I don't see to many people sitting this year.

None of mine do, but they all go back to the days when top qb's rested week 17. Not so big a problem this year though.

Every team is playing their starters in week 17 full. Also, you should be prepared for that as a owner if that's the case. Week 17 is no different than any of the other weeks in fantasy. I remember two seasons ago it was a highest fantasy point total of any week.
