Is there any hope for the 8th seed?

If we can hover around .500 to the halfway mark and get Gordon back (or get an exception stop gap player) can we make a run for the 8 seed with the softer second half schedule?

Looks like it will be a horse race between Phoenix, Sac, Denver, OKC, and the Pels.

We are only 19 games into the season. A lot can happen.

I think it is unlikely, but you never know what moves will be made, who gets injured, etc.

yes. Boogie is out for 2 weeks, so SAC will take a hit.

Seems like the best chance may be to hold off OKC. Of the 7 other teams who made the playoffs last year the Pels are already 5.5 back of Dallas and more than that behind the others outside of LAC (5 games) but there's no way you're gonna catch LAC they'll win 55 games.

I'm curious to how the improved bench play will change things. We were still outclassed by the Warriors and Clippers, but I have to think it turns losses into wins against the Mavs, Blazers and Wizards.

I can see Houston dropping a few when Howard and Harden miss some games with vaginitis.

But seriously I think only Dallas may be the only playoff team vulnerable.

Will Cunningham break the starting lineup at the 3 if Babbitt misses time with the injury?

Luke's role is to spot up from the corner, rebound a little and try to strike a balance between getting burned and fouling. Salmons is a much better fit for that role than Cunningham.

I don't know if you are aware, but Howard hasn't played the past 10 games. Jones has missed 16 games. Beverley has missed 12 games. And Canaan has missed the past 6.

And they've still been winning without those 3 starters and 1 other rotation player.

So I'm not sure your wish will come true.

Rockets have been 7-2 without Dwight I believe, hard to argue against that

i don't think that's true. a coach alone won't keep a team out of the playoffs.

He will if you need to win 2/3 of your games to have a shot.

Yeah definitely. It's just a damn shame we aren't in the east, but that's just how it is. I think it'll end up being between us and Phoenix/Denver. I don't see OKC doing anything, and Sacramento can only go so far without Boogie.
