Going no cable, getting rid of u-verse and using Cox for internet service. Once activated, will I be able to split my line between TV and modem so I can get the 4 network channels, or will I need an antenna?

Sweet. Are they HD though without a receiver?

If your TV handles digital signals correctly they will be...You'll see them in the higher channel ranges 700, 712 etc.

Unless you pay for basic cable, you won't get any TV channels from Cox so you'll need an antenna. If you've got an attic you can put an amplified antenna there and connect it to your cable distribution splitter to feed it out to all the TVs in the house. Expect to get about twenty channels in Baton Rouge, depending on your location in the city.

If you pay for internet, you will get basic cable..The discussion has been hashed out here many times...

Oops. Thanks for clarifying. I left Cox 15 years ago and assumed that they would have found a way to sever the TV from the internet service. Cox is not noted for giving away its services.

I pay for internet and basic cable (NON HD Tier) and have an antenna hooked to main TV in living room to get HD, I didn't realize I could get HD through the cable.

Is that the case?

You should be able to, Cid.

I have the internet with flex tv which came with a cable box that I put in the closet because it's a 15 year old piece of shite. Ran the cable straight to all of my tvs and the local channels are in HD.
