Cubs re-signed Jason Hammel less than a year after trading him to the A's. So the Cubs get their pitcher back PLUS keep the prospects they got from the A's. What exactly are the A's doing? They were one of the better teams in the AL the past two years and now it seems they've questionably gone into rebuild mode.

Hammel was also 2-6 with a 4.3 ERA in Oakland. He was turrible for them.

His contract is not that bad compared to what teams are playing players now. If he performs like last year he is worth every penny
