At this point ...I would do anything to get a new head coach, but I don't trust Miles' judgement one bit. I would rather see him move on to another school...

Probably a nice solution, but can he hire someone who can field a coherent offense?

You can't be fricking serious. You want Les Miles as an athletic director?

I guess none of the facts have sunk in. Forget the "who do we get". How about " who in the SEC has made a successful hire after getting rid of a successful coach"?

Hell just look at the most recent changes, post Fulmer, post Urbs, post Tubbs, etc

fwiw, I think miles would be a great AD. but, I could be wrong; football coaches usually make crappy AD's. but it doesn't matter as we already have an AD. would you reasonably expect LSU to fire our present AD to make room for our football coach just to pacify some of our restless fans that want art briles as coach?

we would be the laughing stock of the country. it would PROVE to the country that LSU is just a football team that has a university dragging it down.

Miles to Michigan is the best move, IMO. Everyone needs change at some point in life. Miles has been great at LSU in many ways. He's also been equally as terrible in many ways. He has not recovered from his Waterloo of 1-9-12. We have not have a signature win since the 2011 Bama game at Bama. Each subsequent season has experienced one loss more than the previous season.

Thee is entirely too much talent at LSU for the team to be 9-3 and 8-4 the last two seasons. Miles is certainly a big reason in getting them to campus, but seeing the rookies playing in the NFL this year that are former Tigers reiterates how bad of a coaching job he has orchestrated as CEO of Football Operations the last few years. We can't sustain the same momentum over the course of the next 6 to 8 seasons until his contract expires or he retires.

Change is warranted and it is not a bad thing.

So how exactly does rookies playing and doing a great job in the NFL, the same rookies that dominated at LSU for previous years, mean Miles is a horrible coach and needs to go?

That statement threw me for a loop.

Is miles a bad coach bc he puts talented guys in the NFL?

Is miles a bad coach bc these guys left to go to the NFL early?

Is miles a bad coach bc they are producing in the NFL, but you don't think they did in college?

Idk what you think but that statement contradicts what you were saying in the rest of your post.

This all day.
The hatred makes these people completely distort the facts to fit their own warped reality.

Why do you think Miles would want a job that would cut his compensation by $4 million per year?

You didn't read my OP in this thread and comprehend what was being said. There is entirely too much talent on the field to be 9-3 and 8-4 the last two seasons. Right, wrong, or indifferent, the facts are the facts here.

Not at all. The more talent he puts in the NFL with lackluster production on the field reiterates his shortcomings as CEO of Football Operations.

quote:

Is miles a bad coach bc these guys left to go to the NFL early?

No, but his job is to get them to campus (which he does), get their education, win football games, stay out of trouble, and keep them there. He has done a subpar job of this, IMO. Once you look at the off the field issues over the last five seasons and the mass early exits, the proof is in the pudding. Have you ever asked why these people leave early? A lot of it has to do with their talents being wasted.

Wasted talent being stuck in a putrid offensive scheme, IMO.

I'm fine with Miles going to Michigan. Less competition in the SEC.

That position requires intelligence. You know, someone that can speak in complete sentences and form logical thoughts.
