Not my first but def my biggest. Hunting about 40 acres of private land in Zachary, so not a ton of monsters. I'll look into a euro mount. Thanks!

I'd shoulder mount that deer. That's a nice deer to me.

tbone, you do wth you want. if it's a trophy where you hunt, put it on the wall,,,,,,somehow!
you can't ever tell what may or may not happen in the future. it's yours, if you can spare the money,???? don't look up there one of these days and say what you should have done, capish?

It depends. How old are you, do you expect to kill something larger, and do you have the funds readily available?
I would shoulder Mount.

The money's not really a problem. Convincing Mrs. TBone to let me hang it in the house is more of an issue.
I keep going back and forth. He's in the fridge so I don't have to make a decision today, just wanted some other opinions. We got a 3-4 more deer around this size on cams on the property, but been hunting here for about 10 years and haven't bagged anything (or seen anything) this size the whole time.

Your call brother. If it is something you want on the wall, go for it. Whatever you decide, that's a nice buck and congratulations.

t, we can give you our opinions all day long,,, but you're gonna have to make that decision on your own.
but first, you're gonna have to pry her fingers apart and pull yer balls out of her grip.

If you think you should mount it, mount it. frick what someone else thinks. I have some 8s mounted that some would have European mounted and they look great with bigger deer around em. You could get a different mount then normal shoulder, too.

Can't do that with the bigger deer
Posted on 12/6/14 at 7:46 pm to INFIDEL
That first picture is tacky as frick.

Put it in three or four plastic trash bags and put it in the freezer till the end of the hunting season. If you bag a bigger one this year, mount that. If not, mount that one. That is a nice buck that would make a good mount.

All depends on you. I don't mount usually unless it's over 150". I've got dozens of 140"s so wouldn't make sense. I know guys that mount dinks though and are as happy as when I kill a 160". Doesn't matter what anyone thinks but you. I usually pay $400 for a shoulder mount.
Pics?

I would skull mount it.

Congratulations bud, that's a nice deer! To me a trophy all depends on what you think not what others think. With that said I'd shoulder mount it.

If that's your biggest deer and you have been hunting there 10 years then I would shoulder mount it.

I want to get one in a full sneak someday. Some people hate em but I think they can look good.
