One thing that he said that we haven’t heard much of is that he believes Les Miles will not be a candidate. That is pretty big news since most believe Miles is a lock if he was offered. He also went on to talk about other rumored candidates. Listen to it if you get the chance.

“Former Falcons and Seahawks coach, and current UCLA head football coach, Jim Mora Jr. has authorized his agent to contact Michigan’s Athletic Director Jim Hackett on his behalf and express that Mora would accept the Michigan job on the spot if offered.”

“Our source tells us that Michigan has given Jim Harbaugh a deadline of next Friday December 12th to give a 100% yes that he will accept the Michigan coaching job (privately) or they will move forward and hire Mora. Straight from our source: “This name will come out of nowhere but this is the guy that will likely be Michigan’s next football coach unless Jim verbally agrees behind the scenes in the next week. “Jim Mora Jr. – judging on his results at UCLA, home run in my book.”

I am not arguing the merits of different jobs, just posting information I found digging through various sites that are covering it in Michigan.

Why take Michigan when you had Texas in the palm of your hand last year?

Also, I'm sure harbaugh will react very positively to such a deadline.

I forgot to mention that apparently Hackett told the team at their meeting that they would have a new coach when they returned from Christmas break.

Won't be anything that will bring a huge turn-around....but JM Jr would be better than what Nebraska did.

Jim Mora Jr would make them a 10 win team.

Probably because they play 10 shitty teams every year but better than what Brady Hoke did

UCLA and USC look great from a distance, but they don't have the same kind of money or facilities that SEC programs, FSU, or OSU and Michigan do. They also don't have as passionate a fanbase as those schools, which is what ultimately brings in the $$$. The Cali schools are better off than Miami in that regard, but there is still a lot of indifference. No matter what, College Football will never be the biggest thing in LA, where it always will be for the schools I mentioned.

I thought U-Dub was his dream job. I have a hard time believing he would turn them down -- and Texas, if it happened -- for Ann Arbor.

The opposite of that is true, which is why they will not make him a candidate

Another problem for UCLA is they don't pay their assistant coaches incredibly well, and even then most can't afford to live in the area and face long daily commutes. May not seem like a huge deal, but it is a hinderence in bringing in good coaching talent
