Wow. I'm an idiot. So apparently there's a durability stat for each weapon. My saw was at 0/200. No wonder I was getting arse raped last night. How do you restore that? Or do you have to keep buying new weapons?

I don't have the game yet but read you should restore it at hunters dream every time.

Load times really are up to the person sometimes. If I don't have a large amount of time to play, they piss me off. If I had an entire day to play then I wouldn't really care.

Beat Cleric Beast last night. Pretty pissed I didn't beat him on my first try. Got him down to about 15% and he picked me up and 1 shotted me.

I died at the cleric beast with about 4800 echos and then died on the way there before i could get them back. frick. That part of the game really fricking aggravates me

Died with 5600 on him and kept going back, retrieving, then letting him kill me, farming more douls and blood vials along the way. After 5 or 6 tries, I went in and buried that fricker

Yea, this happened to me twice... So anytime i reach 3-4000 echoes, I run back to the lantern and spend them.
Im reading on kotaku..is there a shortcut I'm missing to the cleric boss from the first lantern? I extended the ladder but is there another gate somewhere to get to the bridge?

On the bridge right after the wolves but before the troll, if you look to your left, there's a staircase down. Leads into a house with some enemies. Open the door at the bottom, kill one more guy, open a gate to the first lamp

Awesome, I always ran by the wolves bc I can't even compete with them, this will make getting to/killing cleric beast much easier. (this is my first entry into the Souls series, I'm loving it)

A good way to find it is if you are near the bridge, there is a two story house that has four guys in it, two upstairs and two downstairs (one downstairs is a wheelchair guy).
If you exit the bottom floor of the house and see a stairwell going up with a guy right at the first level. Following the stairs up will lead to a switch and gate for the shortcut.

Remember you don't need to kill everything. Once you get to a boss fight and have the shortcut in order, it's pretty easy to just run by the enemies to the fight. It's exploring the area when you should be killing all of them.

So after the beast, is it time to focus on the priest? Right now I'm just running around building up as many echo as possible to get the new weapons and level up. Last time he kicked my arse.

FYI killing that armored troll on the opposite end of the main street gets you some kind of gem. Not sure what it does

You can repair it at the work bench where you upgrade your weapons, it's in the hunters dream.
