Saw Ryan Adams in Dallas tonight (with a short review)

This was my first time to see him. Man what a great show. Chose some great songs to play and sounded fricking fantastic. He is funny as shite too. He talks to the crowd and cracks jokes and even had a stand up comedian for an opener, which was weird at first, but the guy ended up being really funny. He even looked like Ryan Adams so at first I thought it was Ryan just putting on a bit.
He played at McFarlin Auditorium on SMU campus. It is a small venue, reminds me of Municipal Auditorium in Shreveport, or the Strand. His show really caters to that type of venue and gave it a charm that worked well with his style. Just wanted to say that if you have been on the fence about seeing him, I highly recommend it because the tickets are typically pretty cheap and they are a steal.
Also, the songs from the new album sound fricking great live.

The wife and I were supposed to go see him tonight in Tulsa, but we had to cancel due to Holiday madness. Glad you had fun, but your glowing review makes me even more sad that we aren't going.
