My little podunk hometown paper had a photographer's pass when I was at LSU. Nobody ever used it, so I talked them into giving it to me for some of the games. I didn't know what I was doing, but it was a great experience.

The article was great but the comments left by the "official" LSU photographer and photo nerds were pathetic. The kid is having fun and doing a good job. Let him have his one day in the sun. I bet they try to yank his credentials now.
