Cold as shite and snow everywhere.

I love winter, but that is a whole different level.

As I was deplaning when I arrived in Novosibersk that January (their airport did not have elevated gates that attached to the plane, the plane parked on the tarmac near the terminal building and everyone walked down portable steps and then walked about 50 yards to the terminal), the people meeting me were standing at the bottom of the steps holding a sign with my name on it.

The first thing they told me after saying "zdrasvwetee" (formal greeting of 'hello') was "You're very lucky you weren't here last week. It was cold last week."

I looked around the tarmac perimeter and the snow was piled up higher than the airplane. Icicles three feet long and 3 inches in diameter were hanging off of the terminal building roof's ledge. The airport personnel working outside were all dressed in massive hooded parkas.

So I asked, "What's the temperature now and how cold did it get last week?"

The lady said, "Oh today it's only minus 19 (centigrade, or -2 F.) today. Last week it was minus 40 (centigrade, also -40 F.)."

I said a little sarcastically, "Only minus 19? Yes I am lucky." She didn't catch the sarcasm...

Question,

How hard would it be to buy or short 20,000+ shares of Arna in the stock market?

I looked last night on the after hours and new somebody was going to explode this morning. I put in an order to buy at market open...that didn't work out so well.... So I did a little quick buy and sell to cover my losses.

I'm not sure, but TigerDebaiter is in a HUGE hole because of the jump.

Blocks traded of ARNA of 5,000 shares are pretty common. 20K probably would require a while to fill but not impossible.

Schwab allows ARNA to be shorted.

You know you would've made 8800-10000 if you shorted it yesterday at 5.30 around 2pm CST and covered at 4.86

So is this one of those ways to lose your shirt Russian?

I usually do that on days that end in "y."

Why is that day different?

I'm not losing at all today, IRL or in our game. You realize the market is up, right?

Yes sir. My 31000 shares of CTL sold at 39.10 for a profit of 5,000. I am currently up 25000 in the game.

IRL KO, MO and T have been up all week

I remember you posted about that position last week and were a little worried about it. Congrats!

I got out at the right time because it is back down below 38.70

So I'll take the 0.20 a share profit.

Small peanuts compared to the others but I am building it.

TigerDebaiter just had another chance to cover at 407 to get out of the hole plus some.
