Police watched Abbott enter a car, make a transaction and exit the car, the warrant stated. Police then saw Abbott go and make a drug deal, the warrant continued. An arrest warrant was sought based on that information, McKay said.
Abbott was spotted the same day in the area of Hanover Street and Cook Avenue. Police witnessed similar behavior from Abbott and watched her get into the back of a commercial van, McKay said. Police followed the van to the back parking lot of the former Meriden-Wallingford Hospital. When officers knocked on the door of the van, they found Abbott and Lofton engaged in sexual activity, McKay said. Both Abbott and Lofton were cooperative and admitted to the prostitution, he added.
