Would you say that selling over a million copies is a big deal?

If so that's what 4 did for the PS3 and Xbox 360 in America. It nearly did it in the month it launched.
NDP for Feb 2009

All I am trying to say is Street Fighter isn't as irrelevant as people are making it out to be.

What a dumb decision. Why would Capcom limit sales to just the PS4.

I'm starting to believe we're going back to the PS2 days for Japanese games. Those who would buy it on X1 are just going to buy it on PS4 or PC. The type of person who is interested in SF (which is primarily on Playstation anyway) will be getting the console with the most fighting games.

That + additional hype from being somewhat exclusive + likely money/assistance from Sony helps make up the difference if any.

Besides, even if "Street Fighter V" is permanently exclusive to PS4, do you think "Super Street Fighter V" will be? What about "Super Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition" or "Ultra Street Fighter V"? This will eventually make it's way to the Xbox One.

This is definitely my expectation. We'll likely see a multiplat version a year or so later.

Yep, would be surprised if this wasn't a timed exclusive or something along those lines like TR.

Break that down by country and I bet it's fairly small in the USA.

I'm still looking for something else than VGChartz, but they have all versions of SF4 at nearly 8 million, with 3.5 million of that coming from North America.

For concrete numbers, it did 850k in its first month in USA (which was over 40% of their initial worldwide shipment of 2 million). LINK

Edit: Dang, I didn't see Galvo post the NPD numbers. I'm late today.

Point taken and with a source I can't refute. Maybe you're right, but I feel like people were more eager for a new numbered Street Fighter game then than they are now. But this coming solely from my gut based on what I'm reading on forums.

Maybe Street Fighter V will bring about another fighting game craze like the we had in the 90's. I wouldn't be opposed to that.

I'm not worried. Xbox will get the super/ultra edition.

I love the SF series.

Was Ranked #1 in the world with Vega in 2011. I'll be buying a PS4 just for this game.
