Pelican record is no better than last year at this time. Is it time for Monty to go?

I am dying for a new coach. I would take Mark Jackson over Monty all day everyday.

Hell, I feel like some college coaches would do better.

Why does he have to be the choice?

Hell no. I'd rather neither.

He over stayed his welcome in my metaphorical house a long, long time ago.

Now he's just jacking off in my living room while he holds me hostage in the basement.

I was VERY slow to want to do much with Demps because he had so many roster issues that it made hard to judge his performance. However, I am now firmly in the camp of getting rid of him and soon. No hard feelings at all and his hand wasn't the greatest, but I would really like to get a new coach in, preferably before major roster moves. Ball rotation is something we could be so much better at.

Aside: I would love to see what Hubie Brown could do with Davis and this team. Not a realistic option, just that I believe Hubie would be such a "teacher" to this young team.

Dude's 80-something years old and hasn't coached in a decade. No thanks.

When Monty gets canned I'll be on the George Karl pain-train.

Here's the problem with not firing Monty this year. Next year is the last year of his deal and this team should be able to add enough talent to make the playoffs for sure next year. Especially if they just miss the playoffs this year it will be hard to justify firing the coach when the team finally makes it. Do you really want to give Monty 4 more years in the most critical stretch of AD's career in NOLA? If the coach 3 years from now is not the right coach, we may well lose AD in 2020.

If Monty doesn't get fired this year, then Demps (who presumably would be safe as well) needs to acquire another superstar because we'll only win a championship with an overwhelming talent advantage.

I want Monty gone like yesterday, but I still keep having dreams of Avery Johnson being introduced as the next Pels coach.

Why not Mark Jackson? His record with the Warriors improved each year he was there, no matter how short his time may have been. Consecutive playoff appearances. Players liked playing for and respected him. And this 16-2 record they have this year has more to do with him than it does with Kerr. They are playing the exact same way as when they were playing under Jackson. Kerr hasn't does anything different.

Mark Jackson would be a lateral move at best. Multiple people inside the Warriors organization have said Mark refused to hire top tier assistants. The difference between Kerr and Jackson is night and day, the Warriors offense has taken off this year and has made Klay Thompson look like he is worth a max contract. If you watched the game last night the offense the Warriors ran was excellent. Great off ball movement that led to wide open looks and all the players knew what to do and where to be. I can't really state how much better of a coach Steve Kerr is than Mark Jackson.

Three things that have to be done at the end of the season (if not sooner):

1. Fire Williams
2. Fire Demps
3. Stretch Eric "Fragile" Gordon

The players have no fear of Williams. You have a top five player in Davis and he continues to be an afterthought in the 4th quarter. Williams says he has told the team he wants AD have at least 20 touches a game and the players just ignore him. What does Williams do? Says the same damn thing after it happens again. Does Williams adjust the rotation to send a message? Nope.

The roster is a complete joke. Blame that one on Demps. Dedicated 43% of the cap on the 1 and 2 position and we're getting 2nd tier production. No SF. No legit bench. But, hey, we have a bunch of highly paid guards.

Everybody said: "We had a ton of injury last year and we didn't get to see them play together." Well, what's the excuse now?

If the above suggested changes aren't made, the attendance will sink lower than whale shite...and that's at the bottom of the ocean!

Funny, that's exactly what I heard during last year.

This season isn't over yet. Look at the schedule, we should make a run in January-March. An 11-4 or better January wouldn't surprise me. I also think Cunningham and Mekel, even though only marginal upgrades to the bench, have the fit to potentially be tipping point level upgrades. We'll still lose to to the Golden States of the world, but hopefully it pushes us ahead of they guys we're fighting for the 8th seed (I'm really conflicted, making the playoffs is good on so many levels but also means Monty stays. Hopefully 2 straight 1st round exits is what we would see and that would get him fired).

On top of that, stretching Gordon becomes a viable solution next year and at the very least you can add a Gerald Green to this roster.

Mark Jackson and Avery Johnson are Monty Williams but with better rosters. Playoff success doesn't mean you're a good coach, exhibit A Byron Scott.

Coaches like Monty and Mark Jackson who players supposedly love but have no fricking clue as to schemes are not the way to go. This isn't college these guys are getting paid millions, that's their motivation not liking the coach. It needs to be George Karl or some hotshot offensive assistant a la Mike Budenholzer or Tony Stotts or Dave Joerger.
