I realize the state is down on talent this year but looks like this staff still has alot of work to do. IS Les banking on 2016? looks Like this staff could use some fresh blood as far as recruiting. Hoping for a strong finish like last year but starting to have some doubt. Man compared to last year this board has done a complete flip on activity .

The state isn't down much and I think we will pull in most of the remaining top 10. We finish nationally in the top 10 if that is the case and top 5 if we land Malik Jefferson.

It's like people haven't paid attention to this staff's recruiting the past 10 years. We will always get some guys that we had no idea we were even in on by signing day and we'll finish with a top class. It's what this staff does.

It's going to be one of the more interesting and potentially exciting finishes those of us who follow recruiting have had. There are lots of potential flips and big time prospects left in play for LSU.

Tends to be the excuse when Les gets weaker classes. I always found it silly, but this class will likely end up at or just outside of the top 10. We are pretty much losing the #2 OT in the country from our own back yard after losing the #1 OT from our own back yard last year.

Well the #1 ranked player in the state is #22 in the composite rankings, you could say it is a down year.

Louisiana is our bread and butter, and it is why we can compete nationally.

I think Louisiana doesn't have down years in talent, just down years in scouting.

Not really. In most recent years, we have had more of our top targets committed.

No the state is not down this year. It's just 2014 was unusually loaded.

But it's still a fine year in state. We have two 5* players in Tyron Johnson and Guice, and have around 10 guys in the top 250 of the nation on 247composite. And Rivals has 13 guys in state in the top 250.

And like someone said, we will land some guys we werent expecting to get and everything will be fine. And I'm liking our chances with Tyron Johnson and Tillery as well.

We will be top 10.

Talent wise the state doesn't have a top 10 class in it. We just need a complimentary class to 14 and probably will finish in the 12-14 range. We will probably need Tillery and or Mack/Jefferson to crack top 10. Leaving an extra spot or two for 2016 isn t the worst thing in the world either.

Depends on if we can finish strong with the few big recruits we're in on. Obvious answer I know but it's hard to say.

First, if you did your homework, the rankings of the LA players PROVES it is a down year. You too clueless to know the mathematical number line, NOT Les Miles or LSU's problem. And who is the supposed #2 OT in the country? Tillery? You have GOT to be kidding if you believe that. I suggest you actually follow recruiting before making stupid, clueless statements like the ones you just made.

With this DOWN talent year in LA, I don't think LSU finishes in the top 10, especially with other teams taking more than 25 apparently via early enrolless counting against last year's classes. Having said that, 3 5* up to this point with the real possibility of finishing with 4 5* pretty much is a fine year. BTW, I hope everyone understands that stargazing is not the only way to rank a class. LSU needs OL BADLY and LSU is getting several. LSU needs secondary guys and getting those.
