Similar to the Arky scam, Miles and his friend Hackett are going to use this scenario to squeeze some more dinero out of that idiot Alleva. Michigan has zero actual interest in him.

There shouldn't be.

Not to say lack of evidence constitutes a pitch.

People are acting as if there is one and assuming poor behavior based upon that assumption. Pretty damn shitty.

It's going to be like this as long as Miles is here, and it will be like this for the next coach, too.

Miles isnt going to just stop the negotiation if theres a possibility of getting a ridiculous offer? U wouldnt either. This is not about morality. This is business. U can always say N0.

Miles knows the catbird seat he is in and is a very bright man, unknown to most of u.

Michigan has missed on 2 coaches in a row. Can the program survive a 3rd swing and miss? Most think this will be a monumental setback.

Can the program afford to offer coaches who will turn them down? No again. Michigan still believes they are a top 5 program with the right coach.

If Harbaugh says No, it will hurt them badly if Miles also says No?
They can not afford to be turned down by two good coaches this go round and "settle" for a reach. Destroys recruiting.
They are in a pickle, pressure on. Miles probably doesnt care either way. He's got a terrific situation going on at LSU.

When the pressure is on and jobs and legacies are at stake and u are the one they have to have....... Why not listen?

So how do ensure Miles wont say No if Harbaugh turns u down?

If so, great subject closed.

What's the local gut feeling there in BR?

We know from past experience that he'll never publicly "turn down" Michigan even when he has no intention of going.

Les doesn't need leverage. He has a great contract and LSU is basically married to him. He might use it for his assistants to get something, but that's about it.

All he has to do is send out a press release saying any rumors about him leaving are false and he will retire from LSU when the time comes.

Why would he dismiss a job he hasn't been offered? What a retarded fricking thread

Its really not a retarded thread. He does not have to be offered the job to say he is not leaving Baton Rouge for another job. All he has to say he's addressing "rumors" in various media outlets.

It's the nature of the game. The pitch is never public until it's official. He may have already said no, but the phone calls happened, at the very least to gauge interest.

He is trying to leverage for a raise since he is such a fine, upstanding guy.

Just curious, have you never asked for a raise in your own career? Does looking for a raise dictate character?

He's under no obligation to respond to media rumors and/or satisfy the crazed TD posters. There's no evidence of an offer and no reason to respond. He's not going anywhere. The media and crazy fans have caused this uproar and the rumors. I think it's hilarious that he doesn't address anything while people go crazy. Fun and sad at the same time to watch TD while this goes on.

I wouldn't try to get a raise after poor performance.

I have a regular job not some job where I'm insulated from regular people's problems.
