I liked her on Don't Trust the B. But I'm not familiar enough with the character to know if this is a good choice.

Well they can't use her connections to Spider-Man and his classmates, nor can they use her brush with Galactus.

The thing is, it may be too messed up and they'll only want to have a super powered female PI, rather than a super powered, head case, alcoholic PI.
I'm thinking this might be a loose representation of the character.

Good actress, and a decent premise. Without the Avengers having been around forever and a year it might detract from her backstory.
