Joe made his decision as was his right; he would have had a natty at LSU and would have been loved in La like Buga is now and always will be. Maybe California loves him????? Yeah, right. anybody who believes he was leaning LSU is easily fooled.

I read the Book "Meat Market" that followed his recruitment in depth. Thats total BS what he said---he called Porter a liar and trashed LSU in general. Let him sell cars in SoCal

McKnight should have been a db. If that was the case, he'd have more of an impact at the NFL level IMO. He did a nice job at USC at RB though. What RB has LSU ever had like McKnight? It seems strange to me that we would have even tried to sell him on that. We don't use kids like that at RB.

I remember when USC lost a game because he fumbled a punt. On USC's version of The Rant, they were calling him Joe McKnightmare.

Les would have used McKnight about as effectively as he used Russell Shepard.

Actually, Les Miles and LSU used RS as effectively as possible. If you watched the Under Armour QB challenge, obviously RS was an imposter at that event. And he never got stronger which is why as a WRer he was bodyslammed multiple times being tackled. Hmmm, so let's see....below average hands....bad route running...thrown around by light LBers and safeties and corners....and had trouble learning the playbook...no escape moves other than pure speed. Oh yeah, Les Miles wasted his talents. If you kept up with recruiting, you would remember during his SR season, he was dropping in the prospect rankings.

I doubt Joe McKnight can afford a $1M toilet or a $100K bottle of champagne

He was a bust plain and simple. Getting drafted does not mean success. It's what you do and your longevity in the league. Ryan Leaf was the biggest draft bust of all time and he was #1 or #2 overall. Joe was drafted in the 4th round and has failed to make any consistent meaningful impact on a team, and is no longer with any team. An example of a player who career is good, but not the expectation level that was expected is Reggie bush. Bush wasn't Marshall Faulk all over, but he was a great contributor to every team he's been on, and has longevity in the NFL (8 years).

You are an idiot if you think him busting in the NFL means LSU couldn't have used him. That means tha LSU's list of busts include Matt Mauk, Rohan Davey, Joseph Addai, Josh Reed, Chad Lavalais, Glenn Dorsey, etc.
Go ask Washington State if Leif was a bust to them.. What they do in the NFL has nothing to do with whether or not they're a bust to LSU or any college. Just getting to the NFL usually means they didn't bust in college dipshit.

He is in the NFL despite doing nothing in college. He was wasted.

On freaking special teams. He's probably used even less than he was in college.

So which game situation of ours during his years at SC did we miss him? We didn't miss him at RB or PR/KR.

What makes people think LSU would have used him properly? Les couldn't figure out what to do with Shep. Joe made it to the NFL which is the dream of every football player. Did he put up gawdy stats? No, but he is still on a roster in a cutthroat league. Good for him.
