Ya the Joe McKnight bashing is pretty comical. Dude battled injuries and still had 1,000 yards his last season at USC.

You're right. "Pay-Day" clearly lived up to the hype. It's not bashing him to say that in hindsight, we are glad he didn't come here.

Why are you glad a 1000 yard rusher didnt come here? That sounds stupid

Note to recruits. This is why you are better off signing with the home team because when you don't do jack at the next level you come back home crawling on your hands and knees. Dude does not have a pot to piss in nor a window to throw it out of

I highly doubt this is the case with Joe Mcknight

I'm glad Patrick Peterson, Brandon LaFell, Sam Montgomery, Jamal Adams, etc, didn't think like this.

Joe McKnight was on WNOL interview last night and stated that he was leaning LSU and each visit with Les, Les would state he would be used like Bush was used at USC. He went as far as to show him tapes etc. He said that it was Les who made him realize why not just go to USC

I was with a group of people at a work function last week and spoke with Joe about his recruitment. He said that if Saban had been at LSU then he would have committed well before signing day. He also said that LSU was only in the running because his mom wanted him there so badly. Said he woke up in the middle of the night before signing day, told his mom that he was going to USC, but she refused to sign his scholarship papers until the last moment when he signed on ESPN.

Tigerdroppings had one hell of a meltdown that day.

impressive as a freshman, then, meh.

Just not a lot of carries. He was a 1-2 punch to the previous year's #2 RB 5 star Stafon Johnson for 2 years. When Johnson had that horrible accident training, is when Joe had his best year as the primary back.

He got fricking drafted after 3 years. It's dumb that people call him a bust. Now, an argument could be made as to whether his career could have been better had he played CB his entire career instead of RB. But he wasn't a failure at RB.

He was a bust plain and simple. Getting drafted does not mean success. It's what you do and your longevity in the league. Ryan Leaf was the biggest draft bust of all time and he was #1 or #2 overall. Joe was drafted in the 4th round and has failed to make any consistent meaningful impact on a team, and is no longer with any team. An example of a player who career is good, but not the expectation level that was expected is Reggie bush. Bush wasn't Marshall Faulk all over, but he was a great contributor to every team he's been on, and has longevity in the NFL (8 years).

And? Who is saying that Trai Turner is a bust on the college level?

I don't give a shite what anyone does in the NFL when I'm trying to determine whether or not they were a bust in college.

If this were a thread about draft picks your idiotic ramblings may have some merit. But we're talking about recruits.

And LSU was fine without him.

The fact that he still talks about it makes you wonder.

Who gives two shits either way now.

Definitely agree with this. It didn't end up hurting us at all.

Still wouldn't have minded him playing CB for us though.

I don't ever remember watching McKnight play at USC and having the thought that he would have made LSU better during those years (2008-2010). I have very vivid memories of watching Warrick Dunn tear it up at FSU while Curley Hallman was running the LSU program into the ground.....and all I could do was shake my head and wonder.

Les knew what nobody else did at the time...Joe was overrated. Les didn't want him here he secretly recruited him to USC and I guess he was right.
