I've been watching the NBA since I was about 8 years old, pretty religiously. I know I've averaged watching over 50 games a year from the time I was 8 until now, 33. But DAMN...I can't remember seeing anyone air ball back-to-back free throws in the NBA.

When I was a kid, I was a pretty good basketball player, but I had the yips at the free throw line. It was horrible. I hated getting fouled. But I never airballed back to back free throws. Pathetic.

Same here. I sucked so bad at free throws. I'm so not mechanical. If I'm good at some physical task or move, it's because it's just natural to me. The more I get mechanical with things I break down. So naturally, the repetitive nature of FTs made me horrible at them.

I've never airballed 2 in a row though...good lord.

We sound a lot alike. My teammates would laugh that I could hit an And1 floater from 9 feet and miss the free throw. I had a better three point percentage than free throw percentage. I remember Bruce Bowen was like that in the NBA.

Woah just watched the video, what the shite is on his head?!

And I feel bad for him, he was obviously nervous as hell.

you should have dribbled around and jump shot your free throws.

For the record I did this one practice, and my coach said it was ridiculous and not to do it in the game.

It worked too!

Free throws are funny. I remember Nick Van Exel would take his from like three feet behind the line.

The only reason it isn't done is because it's taboo. Would probably make a lot of players better. The underhand thing as well.

I really wish Howard would give the underhand a shot. Everyone already hates him anyway. He has no dignity to protect.
