This movie gets everything from "piece of crap" to "masterpiece". I can explain every facet of the film. If you have questions.......shoot.

At this moment? I haven't seen it in years so no I don't recall all the ins and outs. But I understood it just fine when I saw it and any questions I had I cleared up by doing a little reading.

Since no one elaborated on the old folks, I can fill you in. Diane was raped multiple times by the older man and covered up by the older woman. This is exposed throughout the film and is the reason that Diane's demons caused her suicide.
