I have been traveling a good bit for work lately and my iPad 2 doesn't have much storage space on it (I was an idiot when I purchased one with such little gb).

Anyway, I have deleted almost all apps, photos, etc and am still only to download 1 movie at a time. I have a 12 hour trip next week with a coworker and am wondering if I can download movies to an external hard drive or memory card of some sort to transfer to the iPad as I finish watching each movie. I hope this makes sense, as I am not the most tech savvy person around.

I do not have a data plan for this and it eats the shite out of my hot spot data to download movies on the road so please keep recommendations to solutions not requiring wifi. Not to mention I fly to the north east a good bit on long flights. I'm add as shite so need help passing the time.

Everyone of the links above is some type of wireless based solution. The only way they would work for your solution is if the devices would provide some type of SSID themselves and communicate directly with the iPad. There's no way to add storage capacity to the iPad for true offline usage.

That's what the one I linked does...

It's also a travel WiFi router and has its own battery.

Lacie Fuel

It's pricey but it has its own wifi built in for connectivity. It isn't perfect but it should do what you want.
