The Bush Doctrine is on the verge of making a comeback.

As Jeb Bush weighs a presidential bid, the former Florida governor on Tuesday laid out his foreign policy precepts, which closely mirror that of his brother, former President George W. Bush.

Please. No.

Unfortunately it seems that it has a lot of support on both sides of the aisle.

Just look at the congressional record. Democrats voted for war too. In fact that's what Obama nailed Hillary on during the 2008 Democrat primaries.

So fricking ignorant

Dems are on record supporting the Iraq war en masse

They'll do it again especially if it's their guy calling for it.

Is the world so different now that a new president couldn't emulate Reagan's foreign policy? I mean the guy showed strength but actually avoided any serious war.

I suppose the military industrial complex was kept happy with defense contracts during the Cold War with Russia.

It would probably be better if we could just give the military industrial complex straight cash in lieu of conjuring up wars to spend money on...welfare money, if you will.

Obama's approval rating is pretty low on foreign policy.

I was talking about Reagan.

Reagan showed strength but avoided (hot) war (there were some minor conflicts).
