I see Butch is one of the Vegas favorites to land in Ann Arbor. I'm just thinking in my head and can't come up with any reason(s), besides $, for him to leave.

You don't have to play UGA, UF, UA and two other SEC West schools annually?

$, easier to recruit, less competition, more prestigious program, better city, more resources

Better instate recruiting? Doesn't have to play two SEC west teams a year. Doesn't have to compete with UF, UGA, and MIZZOU every year.

I see can all of those, excluding recruiting. UT will be able to get more talent in the SEC.

One has to think the same demographics that are working against much of the midwest in general are hurting the university of Michigan. College players would prefer to play in warm climates, and the days of the Big Ten being the premier conference seem to be long gone regardless of how many people think Michigan is still a more prestigious job than the other top 10-15 schools. Detroit being an absolute hell hole can't help the wolverines much either.

Then why did Hoke get a higher average recruit than Tennessee every year he was there?

Butch must love trying to appease former giant fanbases with dated slightly delusional expectations, in limited talent states, that also happen to have in-state league rivals, and most dangerously with a border war rivalry vs NCAA alltime monster programs, both with current multi-natty champ HOF HCs that he'll never outrecruit..

Good luck with that!

A major US city which lies fairly close to Ann Arbor is crumbling from within and that has to have some impact on the image of Michigan.

Brady was a terrible coach. Thats why he got fired. He was a solid recruiter though.

And how is that ranking working out for Tennessee?

You didn't go to college did you Joe?
