takes place during the same zombie apocalypse depicted on The Walking Dead but in a different location. It revolves around a male divorced teacher and a female guidance counselor.

will not watch. the original show has a hard enough time making each episode watchable. now they have to produce twice the content and still not make it the same story? dont see it happening.
AMC needs some influx of new shows badly.

it should be quite interesting because it will focus more on the effects of the outbreak immediately after the outbreak occurred.
This means that it will be more chaotic than normal.
Imagine a TV series that has the theme that the first couple of scenes from the Dawn of the Dead remake had.

yeah thats a cool concept. im sure the first season will be great. the biggest knock for me against TWD is gets stale very quickly and they can only do so much.

Jeeze. If that's the way they choose to describe the main characters, it makes me wonder. I mean, what does the fact that he's divorced even have to do with anything? Most people's spouses end up dead or zombiefied anyway.

Honestly I'd love the characters from the game. Lee

I'm in. Like others have said, I just don't know how Kirkman will find enough creative juices to pull off 2 series at the same time. I guess we'll see.

I kind of agree because the main TV series is coming from the comics...in comics you can only have so many concepts.
I had this discussion with a co-worker the other day...the good thing is that the TV series has been able to introduce other arcs beside those found in the comics...so it's quite refreshing for somebody who reads the comics and finds redundant story lines

While things bogged down in the prison, I think this season is the best since the first season. I find myself eagerly awaiting each and every new episode again this season.I would definitely watch another series that gives a more detailed look at the early stages, though I'm not sure how many seasons they could fill before it gets too much like the original.

He looks like a poor mans Johnny Depp.

They finally left the prison!?!
That's when I stopped watching. Good grief. They took a fun show and stalled it out in an actual and metaphorical prison.
I'll have to start watching again.

Announced the male lead today, Cliff Curtis, most recently in FOX's "Gang Related".

A key role has been filled on The Walking Dead companion series.
Cliff Curtis (Gang Related, Sunshine) has joined the project in what’s described as a male lead role, EW has confirmed. The actor will play a father who’s trying do to the right thing.
Curtis joins previously cast Frank Dillane (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) and Alycia Debnam Carey (Into the Woods).
The Walking Dead companion series is at the pilot stage, written by Robert Kirkman and Dave Erickson, but is almost certainly getting an eventual series order.
It’s set in the same zombie apocalypse universe as the original hit series, yet in a different location (and possibly during a different time as well).
