Is The Velvet Underground the "coolest" band of all time?

While the Beatles were singing about daises and submarines and shite these dudes were wearing leather jackets and talking about sadomasochism and scoring heroin. Minimalist sound, rough edged lyrics, some Russian broad that sounded like a dude. They had it all.

In terms of sheer partying, don't give a frick attitude, and drug use, I'd say Stones and Van Halen are "cooler" than VU.
