Do you realize how much it would have helped the country if President Obama had publicly said something along these lines?

quote:

Charles Barkley: Ferguson Grand Jury Got it Right, Looters Are Scumbags

Last week on Philadelphia radio 97.5's "The Fanatic," NBA star Charles Barkley said the Missouri grand jury was right when they decided not to charge Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson for fatally shooting Michael Brown.

Barkley told host Mike Missanelli that the looters are “scumbags," adding, "There is no excuse for people to be out there burning down people's businesses, burning down police cars."

"I can’t believe anything I hear on television anymore, and that’s why I don’t like talking about race issues with the media anymore because they love this stuff and lead people to jump to conclusions. The media shouldn’t do that. They never do that when black people kill each other," he added.

Barkley continued, “We have to be really careful with the cops because if it wasn’t for the cops we would be living in the wild, wild west in our neighborhoods. We can’t pick out certain incidentals that don’t go our way and act like the cops are all bad. Do you know how bad some of these neighborhoods would be if it wasn't for the cops?”

When that cop killed Michael Brown in self-defense, he made the neighborhood safer. He was serving and protecting. They should thank him

Thank you, Charles Barkley.

I really needed to read that tonight. The bizarro reaction to a cut-and-dried policing matter has me feeling pretty downbeat.

I firmly believe if the cops weren't ever there, (ie, if Wilson had never shown up and eventually shot Brown) there would eventually be protests about cops not giving a shite about their neighborhood

The Chuckster is absolutely correct.

Per par, I might add.

I heard on the news today that Barkley is thinking about running for the Senate. I hope he does. I guess it's in Alabama. Is that where he lives?

Kind of like my boy Pop. Sitting Parker and Duncan and still getting the W on the road (I guess not a hard call to make when you're playing a YMCA league team )

i never stood with the looters. Questioning Darren Wilsons testimony, the DA, and Michael Browns death does not equal supporting looters.

Clearly you make grand generalizations about people

And sir Charles is right. And half right because he only speaks of one angle.

As a Christian, the value of life is paramount to me. So 1 lost life >>>>> property (livelihoods).

The injustice and the mockery tha our criminal justice system is becoming >>> property. Our great nation and its laws hopefully will stand the test of time. Property won't. The safe guarding of our nation's ideals for all people out weighs lost cheetoos.

I mean, is that what we go to war for ? Isn't that one of the basis of the civil war?

Does baiting mean rolling with the good squad?

You Guys make dangerous associations.

Which psychologically, is far fetched for people when it comes to minorities, since we are seemingly implicitly attached to crime and violence
