How the Mainstream Media picks racism cases

All they really want is the blurry cases like Mike Brown and Trayvon Martin. If they show real police brutality, real racial profiling, most people would agree and we could heal race relations and bridge communities. Instead MNBSC and CNN pick the ones where only idiots think the killer should be jailed under our legal system in order to drive a wedge in the racial gap. Then they turn around and point at the racial gap and complain and say that republicans and whites won't fix it.
The media is in my opinion the number one thing on which this country will rise or fall with. It's not trending in the right direction.

Didn't another poster start a thread that pretty much said the exact same thing not too long ago

Probably But it's infuriating enough to get lots of attention

honestly they didn't pick those cases.
for travyon, the parents hired a publicist.
For Mike brown, the protests starting within a day or two. And quickly turned violent, which lead to the coverage.
I don't think you can say the media picked either one of them.

Yeah someone mentioned it a while back on why they choose obvious thugs as martyrs.

After wall-to-wall coverage of Trayvon and The Gentle Giant, I hope I never again have to hear another know-it-all lib say "all cable news cares about is missing/dead white girls with blond hair."

Mainstream Media
The phrase is obsolete. FOX News is the #1 TV news source now.
FOX = mainstream. If by "mainstream media" you don't mean FOX + CNN + MSNBC - pick another terminology because you're wrong.
Reminds me of when "alternative" music became mainstream back in the 90's - yet the radio kept calling it "alternative" music even when it was absurdly obviously they were now referring to mainstream music. (these things to belong to a larger class of short-sighted naming of things - like the "modern" art movement - it ended 40 years ago - no longer modern)

That is the biggest bunch of bullshite. But the myth has been with us since the 19th Century and some of you will continue to believe it. Carry on.

A perfect example of not trying to cover the story, but to create it. Sickening.

I need a political cartoon of a reporter blowing up a car and handing the detonator to a bystander before reporting on it.
