Currently on a flight to Phoenix. I have already booked a room tonight at he Embassy Suites in Tucson at Paloma Village.

I have my second night booked at the aLoft down right next to UofA but on second look, it doesn't seem to have much in aspect of being to walk for food and drinks.

Wednesday night I am going to be back up in Phoenix, I have heard great things about Scottsdale but really not sure where I should stay. I have stayed at the Biltmore in the past, but it certainly keeps you on the property.

Like I was saying, walking to food and drink is my main priority. Any of you have some suggestions?

Stay in Old Town Scottsdale. Can easily walk to several bars and restaurants. At night there are cute chicks driving golf cart taxis as well in that area so you can always catch a ride with them.

I've spent a good amount of time in Tucson and the culinary scene isn't too fantastic. Just good Mexican...other than that, meh. Other than that, I love Tucson.

Scottsdale is pretty great but there are people here that can give far better advice.

Try Hilton Garden Inn in Old Town

It's on Indian School road. Rooms usually aren't too expensive and you are within walking distance of everything. I've never been inside there but know people that have stayed there and they had no complaints.

If you're in a pizza mood while in Tucson, go to Rocco's on Broadway. Their deep dish is the bomb and it's one of the very few places you can get an Old Style.

If you can get over to Four Peaks Brewing Co. in Tempe it is awesome. One of my favorite bars I have ever been to.

Stay at the Marriott in Old Town on 3rd Ave. If not there then the Hyatt or Hilton next door. If you spend some money the W or the Valley Ho are good options in the same area.

If you're staying there, try The Trident. It's catercorner to the hotel and owned by an ex Navy seal. I hear the food is pretty good (never actually ate there) but the atmosphere is pretty cool.

Hell, you might even get lucky and get to witness a Seal post-induction party .

This is true. They defaced statues with chalk graffiti. Then some of them went back and wiped it off later cause they felt bad.

Personally I like the Marriott better and I am in both of those hotels each week. They both will bring me room service to my place, how awesome is that!

i think you are pretty close to la encantada, an "upscale" mall with some good dining options.

if you want to walk to eat/drink near campus just head west toward university. lots of places to eat, shop, and get a beer. there are also a lot of places to eat and bars along 4th ave, which is a bit further walk from campus.

in phoenix, if you stay at the biltmore you are sort of close to biltmore fashion, which has a few good places to eat. can also try the french bistro at the ritz or this new place called the gladly which has been getting really good reviews. all in camelback corridor.

i live in uptown phoenix, and used to live downtown so can offer suggestions there. the other phoenix posters can probably offer better advice on scottsdale places. some other really nice hotels include the phoenician (on the edge of phoenix and scottsdale), the sanctuary (in paradise valley), and the boulders (in way way north scottsdale). they are all going to be pricier than usual this time of year.

I've never been in either. My cousin stayed at Hilton one of his visits here before he moved. That's awesome about the room service though.

Just think...I'll be living just a lil bit closer to Old Town this month

I don't know if you're into golf but the Lowes resort in Tucson was nice. It's the off season so rates should be lower.

Nurse will hate on Tucson but I liketed it.
