"The previous offensive line coach didn't recruit me at all so I didn't hear anything from LSU until Coach Grimes got there," Tillery said. "We've built a good relationship since then. He's a player's coach and he has coached some pretty big names. He is just an all-around good guy."

quote:

"LSU is telling me they have pretty good depth on the defensive line. They have some offensive tackles leaving so they need some young guys there. That's what I hear mostly from them.

Kind of makes you wonder if this was the real reason we lost Robinson. Bama out worked us. Here is a kid flat out saying that he wasn't being recruited at all.

CamRob alluded to that himself.

CamRob outright said that at one point.

I think this news is very refreshing. It gives very valid reasoning to certain things - things we can correct.

LSU provides so much, but unfortunately if we don't tell people/ recruits about it, they won't know.

I hope our effort in recruiting continues to pick-up and get the top level, where it should be. We should never be outworked, especially in state.

Bama outworks everyone. They're willing to go to lengths that most others aren't. Gotta fight fire with fire at some point.

Wow that is amazing that he was not at all recruited by stud I'm assuming. just shows how important it it for the position coach to recruit the players he will be coaching.

Shouldn't Miles have stepped in and recruited himself rather than relying on fall guy Stud!

I won't way anything more about Studrawa than I said when he was around LSU. I cut him a LITTLE slack as OC since he was forced into that position but sorry, being OC at Bowling Green doesn't qualify you to go up against SEC defenses. And as far as him being an OL coach, I haven't gone down 120 OL coaches, but AT BEST, I considered him maybe 60th best. If you are trying to be in the top few teams every year, 60th isn't remotely close enough to the top. And the only guy I might put there right now on the current staff is Ensminger. And yes, recruits do notice for their position, have you put guys into the NFL. Studrawa put very few there in the last several years.

miles needs to answer for this as well but shouldn't the recruiting coordinator maintain a listing of guys being recruited. there are ncaa rules that limit contact so we must keep records of who we are talking to. it should be easy for the recruiting coordinator or head coach to look into a recruiting LSU recruiting database and see who we have contacted and how often.

poor management a least and lazy arse at worst.
