Meh.
He'd be Bill O'Brien 2.0. Good offense, would leave the program in good shape, but he'd bolt to the NFL the first time they called his name. Does Florida want to go looking for another coach in 2 to 3 years?

He almost single handedly ruined an NFL franchise.

You don't have to tell me - I'm a Broncos fan.
He'll forever be remembered by me as the guy who thought Tim Tebow was worth a first round pick.

He also pushed away your franchise QB at the time.

but that one year with Tebow was so much fun to watch.
One of my favorite years watching the NFL.

I guess that explains why Florida thinks so highly of him.

Not just that, he traded up for him.

Dude could bring on Tebow as his OC.

Not if you were an objective Broncos fan.
I like Tebow as a person, but it was nauseating to see him continually get the lion's share of the credit when he was crapping the bed for three and half quarters and the defense was keeping them in the game. However, that OT play call, throw and run against the Steelers was a thing of beauty.

He wasn't, we were just getting sidetracked talking about Tebow as the Broncos' QB.

UF considering Josh McDaniels

True, but it's not like Cutler has been setting the world afire in Chicago, and he's an extremely tough guy to root for.
The crazy thing is that the McDaniels/Tebow/Orton/Cutler debacle ended up working out in Denver's favor. Down the road, Chicago was essentially forced to vastly overpay Cutler while Denver was able to make a viable pitch to Manning and easily jettison Tebow for two draft picks, one of which ended up being Trevathan.

I would be shocked if McDaniels was the next coach at UF.
People are getting hyper about the vetting process. It's kind of fun to watch all the different posts of good hire/bad hire from fans of other teams though.

Oh I understand.
But it was awesome to see crap football end in wins. Matt Prater was awesome too.
BTW I think the 9-6 game was one of the most entertaining games I have ever watched.
When Chicago fumbled with one minute left, when they were trying to run the clock out, I began to think something divine was involved with Tebow.

I used to joke with my wife and say that I wondered how many non-believers were converting to Christianity simply because they'd see Tebow pray and then some random, crazy, flukey thing would happen to give Denver the momentum, ball or outright win. Marion Barber stepping out of bounds when Chicago wins if he just ends up being tackled in bounds was one of the more "WTF was that??" plays I've ever seen.
