If Lane and Cam had switched jobs, would it have made a significant difference in LSU and Alabama's respective seasons in terms of record and offensive performance?

well duh, we run an antiquated 70's style offense while they run a modern wide open offense.

Lane knows how to get his playmakers the ball in space. All of this with a running back turned quaterback.

Also, this is Lane's first year with these guys. Everyone likes to bash Lane, but honestly he knows what he is doing. You know Bama will field a good to great defense year in and year out, but watch out if Lane sticks around a while. Their offense will be tough to stop with the five star guys they get.

Alabama is probably the only team in college football that could run Camerons offense and be successful. It relies on being physically and athletically superior to the opponent which Bama is. We aren't physically superior to quite a few teams on our schedule. But if we had Kiffen as an OC I believe we would have gone undefeated this season. It a modern offense that utilizes and gets the most out of the skill players on the team. Miles has the talent for developing and getting his teams up to play. Combine that with Kiffen (or dam near any other OC in college who run modern offenses) would be a nearly unstoppable combination

You should ask yourself who is the better x and o coach. Kiffin or Les Miles.

If Les is still the head coach and AJ is the QB, , there would be no difference in offensive performance IMO

Lane has a 5th year senior, 4 WR and TE that are very experienced. LSU came in with a second year QB with one start and about 40 passes, and 8 receptions between every WR.

Lane had a gift of offensive talent like Cam had last year. I'll hold my breath to see how they handle life after losing 9 starters.

C'mon Cam was toast of town last year with 2 1000+yard receivers and 1000+ y RB and now he's no good and Lane Kiffen is your choice that's crazy. I think when we get a QB who can actually throw we will see offense open up we are a young team.

People are losing their minds

Cam can only win with a 5th year senior, but that Lane Kiffen! He could win with a homeless guy off the street as a QB. NVM Blake sims is a 5th year senior behind the best oline in the country! Lane fricking Kiffen is an offensive genius!

Nope Les would still design the gameplan and make sure Cameron runs what he wants him to run.

why do you idiots keep saying this? WE FINISHED 7TH OUT OF 14 SEC TEAMS IN TOTAL OFFENSE LST SEASON. The only stat we were good in was 3rd down efficiency which was due to our run run pass offense constantly put us in 3rd down situations and we had the talent to bail us out on them. Otehr than that we sucked in every single offense category especially the two most important ones: scoring offense and total offense. We also sucked in time of possession which is what they like to claim is a strength and the reason we run our run run pass offense. WE were also not good at protecting the football, one of the worse in turnover margin, another reason it is stated we run the run run pass scheme.

We don't need a genius we just need average so we can shoot for average results from our offense. (don't know fans are so opposed to great results however)

but we also had 5893 total yards of offense
Thats a lot, and most years it would be much better than 7th.
Last year we had three team almost have 7000 yards of offense, it was a particularly good year for offense in the SEC.

1. efficiency doesn't have anything to do with how many third downs you were in.
2. we actually were 114th in the country in third down attempts, tied with A&M for third in the SEC. Not that that matters

114th in attempts
14th in conversions.

Otehr than that we sucked in every single offense category especially the two most important ones: scoring offense and total offense.

#1 in third down conversion (in the country)
#23 in scoring in the country

we actually only gave the ball away 1.3 times per game, which is 21st in the nation. We were 79th in take aways. So we took care of the ball, but didn't force turnovers.

You just aren't looking at these stats with any kind of objectivity. We ran an extremely balanced offense. And out stats also reflect that we were without Hill for 1.5 games, and without Mett for 1 game. When we are talking about the difference between 5th place and 4th place being 400 yards, playing a QB that threw for 82 yards, vs a QB that was averaging 256 is going to hurt your numbers. Also not starting a RB that averaged 122 yards a game for almost all of 2 games is going to hurt your numbers, but in the games where we had both we were an exceptional offense.

You can't look back at total numbers from las year, and judge the offense in a bubble.
