Nice try, Mary, but he's persistent. Said he'll be there on Dec 6th.

Went to early vote. He had registered at college a week ago.

Anyway, he's not on the rolls yet, but they had him fill out another voter registration card again (hopefully he gets two votes next week).

Anyway, I guess a provisional ballot is only available on the actual election day?

And they were sticklers for ID. Kinda pissed my white privileged arse off.

Have you considered the possibility that your son is a liar?

What did he say when they told him the deadline to register was 30 days before election day?

Maybe he's on the supplemental list. That happened the first time I voted in Louisiana.

Nobody said anything about it.

I hear about walking in and voting with same day registration all the time.

You lefties aren't trying to suppress his vote are ya?

He wasn't being disenfranchised, the problem is that most people in local government at the front lines really don't give a flying frick and have no particular reason to.

If Amazon Prime had been in charge he would have been voting within 5 minutes.

Doesn't appear so. I just hope you're not some helicopter parent that thinks the rules don't apply to your special little snowflake.

The last day to register to vote in the December 6th election was November 5th, by law. His provisional ballot will be thrown out if he only registered a week ago.

There is no white privilege in the voting booth. He still has to follow the rules.

Unless your son is in the military, as a college student he lacks the life experience to make an appropriately informed vote. Voting age should be 25 absent military service. How do we make this happen?

He told me he was looking for the R on the ballot and voting them. When I asked what he would do if there were multiple Rs, he said he was taking the first one.

I was a proud papa.

While I too tend to side with republicans lacking a viable libertarian candidate, he should not be voting for major races without having more information to go on than that.

This makes me cringe.

Your son needs to learn the importance of research and making informed decisions as it pertains to voting.

Guys calm down.

This thread is half real, half caricature in case you haven't figured that out yet.
