It is a sacrilegious selfie too far: There is disturbing news out of Bedford County, Pa., where officials say a 14-year-old western Pennsylvania boy has been charged with desecrating a statue of Jesus by standing in front of it and mimicking a sex act, then posting pictures of it on the Internet.

No he should not be arrested or prosecuted.

In fact, I think it takes courage for a 14 year old to come out of the closet in such a bold way.

If there is a law against - yes. If not a law, then some good Christian 14 year-old kid should find him and whip his arse.

Well should there be a law against what he's doing?

That's fair and how it should be handled.

Aren't public obscenity laws already on the books in many places? I wouldn't want a religious law, but a general public obscenity one would be alright/

However, the Altoona Mirror reports the boy is charged under a rarely used 1972 law that makes it a crime to desecrate a venerated object.

That doesn't answer my question to you: Should there be such a law?

Well since you're trying hard to have a "gotcha" moment, I'll say yes.

Now, you can blast away.

It's not a "gotcha" I was just wondering if you were pro-sharia law. You've answered.

ETA: I guarantee you if he hadn't plead out to community service any conviction would have been overturned.

I don't have a problem with a law like that, but I don't consider what this kid is doing to the statue to be desecration. He's gay, he's horny, and he's acting out a fantasy. That's not desecration in my book. Desecration would be permanently damaging the statue by chopping its head off, or spray painting it, or something like that.

Was he trespassing? I could see some kind of indecency charge due to the possibility of children seeing him do this. I wouldn't want my 5 year old daughter to see this assclown humping Jesus face lol. I can't say I haven't done stupid shite like this but I wouldn't be as dumb as this kid and post them online. I take it back he should be prosecuted for being a dumb arse lol. The judge should make him stand there with a big sign saying " I am an idiot. I humped this statues mouth and posted pictures online of me doing it. Please, mock and ridicule me."
