....feel the need to provide 5 minutes of useless background info prior to asking you the 5 second question?

I mean, sure, if the background you're providing has some relevance to the question, go ahead and provide it; or ask me the question first, and then let me ask for any background information that I may feel is relevant to answering the question if I think it's necessary.

My patience wears thin in this scenario.

Zero...I always interrupt and ask for the cliff notes to the story. They either roll their eyes and walk off or get to the damn point.

Happens to me all the time with employees. I stop them and tell them to get to the question.

I have less patience for someone that thinks they're a fricking know it all and think they can answer my question without the background information.

I'm not a know-it-all, but telling me when and where you bought a universal remote (to the exact day) has zero relevance to why you can't get it to work.

It might.

What if I bought the universal remote at a yard sale 3 years ago?

You are just emotional and impatient like a typical woman. Use your logic and analytical skills. Background info is always good.

..when you buy shite at a yard sale, don't expect it to be in top-notch condition and then expect someone to fix it for you when it breaks 3 years later.

The great thing about message boards is that I can skip your useless background info.

Very short, normally it's a customer trying to swindle me for free shite. I have 80% "NO" rate, 10% "Compromise" rate and 10% "YES" rate.
